[2008.09.18.] ÚJ SZAKMAI ANYAG

Washingtonban szervezett DLS kongresszusra a DLSZ alapító tagjai szakmai anyagot nyújtottak be, amely elfogadásáról Rebecca Armentor szervező pozitív visszaigazolásából idézünk:

"A DLS ( a diabetikus végtagok megmentésért) c. konferenciára benyújtott A Magyar Diabétesz-Láb Szövetség első éve- Kísérleti szűrések és plasztikus terhelés csökkentő eszközök bevezetése c. előadás kivonatát elfogadtuk .

Fogadja gratulációnkat az előadás kivonatának elfogadása alkalmából, ami bemutató poszterként fog megjelenni a DLS (a diabetikus végtagok megmentésért) konferencián, amely 2008. szeptember 18-20 között Washingtonban kerül megrendezésre.
Az elfogadott kivonatokat a www.DLSconference.com/abstract.html címen tesszük közzé."

The Hungarian Diabetic Foot Association was founded in 2006 as a non-profit organisation – in which, besides the patients and the health service employees performing their provision, room was made also for the attendant providers. www.diabeteszlab.hu
The pilot screenings commenced in 2007 were the introductory measures of the – nationwide – 7-center screening program. In the framework of the pilot screening, we have screened 1000 patients in four centres – in the gravity zones of Budapest, Debrecen, Gyöngyös and Pécs – which we linked with a modern method of offloading – and in cases of 99 patients we utilised weight relieving total-contact soft cast - www.diabeteszeslab.hu.
On our poster, we will demonstrate the examination algorithms applied during the screening – which we carried out on two levels. On the first level the preliminary screening took place, which comes within the competence of the specially trained medical personnel – following this, the selected patients were further examined with specialist’s competences.
The existence of significant structure deformation and trophic wound on the sole or if the risk of such existed, the patients were directed to the offloading program, in the course of which plastic plaster was applied – with a structure adapted to the deformations.
In that examination year we applied such treatment instrument in the cases of 99 patients - out of which in 90 cases we were able to monitor it even beyond the required minimum follow-up time.
We monitored the patients’ wound healing tendency, the improvement of loadability, and changes in walk distances.
According to our conclusions, the pilot screening was successful, as it detected in more than 50% of the patients deformations, to which earlier no importance has been attached.
We offered immediate possibility for therapy to the high-risk patient-group, in the course of which we could record accelerated healing dynamics - and besides this the movement restrictiveness of the patients also decreased, thus we could measure also the psychic contentment.
We regard our initial results as the first step to a nationwide screening program to be carried out first at least in seven, then in 21 centres. We are even currently carrying on negotiations concerning the possibilities of joining the National Health Programs - as in Hungary there are 600.000 people with diabetes and at least 15% of them suffer from some kind of tophic disorder.
